TourWest 2019 Awarded Projects Period of Performance Extended to December 31, 2020

Due to the widespread prohibition of large community events and mass gatherings beginning in early March 2020, TourWest is extending the period of performance for projects to December 31, 2020. Organizations that have not completed their TourWest 2019 project must contact to inform us of the situation. We are committed to working with organizations on a solution despite the difficult circumstances. Organizations that have recently completed the projects, but have not completed the final report to receive award will have until December 31, 2020 to do so.

Welcome to the application portal for TourWest, a program of WESTAF.

TourWest is a competitive grant program, supported by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. This grant provides subsidies to arts and community organizations within the 13-state WESTAF region for the presentation of out-of-state touring performers and literary artists. For the 2020-2021 cycle, projects must take place between September 1, 2020 and August 31, 2021 and must have one public performance and one educational outreach activity.

TourWest grants are available in an amount of up to $2,500 or 50% of the artistic fees, whichever is less. Eligible organizations may apply for up to two standard performance grants, for two distinct projects. Applicants are encouraged to feature performers from the western United States, however, the performers do not need to be from the 13-state WESTAF region and can be internationally based. All TourWest grants must be matched on a one-to-one basis in cash by the presenting organization.

Preferential consideration will be given to applications that most effectively address the following criteria: artistic merit, presentation of programs to underserved and/or culturally diverse audiences, quality outreach activities, engagement and collaboration (including block booking), and thoroughness of the project's planning.

Users who applied in 2017 or after will use the same login and password. First-time applicants must create a new profile. Technical support is available Monday through Friday, between 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM Mountain Time at 303.629.1166 or

Application Deadline: Friday, May 1, 2020 at 11:59 PM Mountain Time.
